Summary

This issue of Naturzale magazine introduces the motions and conclusions that were adopted during the seminar organised by the Oxford Forestry Institute (University of Oxford) and the Natural Sciences Section of Eusko Ikaskuntza on "The sustainable development of the forests: aspiration and reality" in Oxford (England). In this seminar there was an interesting exchange of ideas and points of view between technical and scientists with the purpose of proposing criteria on sustainable forestry management. The aspects approached in the mentioned seminar were not limited to the economic, biological or ecological fields but also included social, political and legal points of view. We therefore believe that it is an interesting publication, especially for those

interested in the current situation of sustainable development and the environment.
