Summary

Sustainable mobility and transport are terms that appear more and more frequently in political discourse although, in practice, sustainability is just a new lable that conceals the same policies as in the past. The objective of this article is to reach an operational definition of the concept of sustainable mobility and set the bases for sustainable mobility to become a useful and effective tool for a 21st century transport policy.
