Summary

In this methodological paper we present the so-called "los autos de oficio contra los amotinados", an important source to approach the 1766 Guipuscoan riot and offer a holistic vision of this event, as well as to the inner-tensions of the Basque community in the mid 18th century. The potential of the source is analyzed along with the problems arisen by its use, so that researchers interested in these documents can effectively take advantage of them.
