Genealogy is mainly research in parochial records, nobility records and writings filed in notarial protocols. In parochial records, work should begin in the matrimonial records. Basque surnames have their graphic symbols in their coats of arms (heraldry) that possibly have their origins in Germany. The means of expressing such symbols are enamels (gold, silver, green, blue, black and red) and figures (which can be heraldic, natural, artificial and chimerical).
