Summary

The relationship between reading and the subject of language and literature, is unfortunately not too good, and this is one of the great problems in current teaching. The current situation of pleasure in reading is very bad, but worse still, it does not look as if it is going to change, mainly because of a lack of interest from the Administration, teachers and the students. The author makes a series of commentaries on various situations of the problem as a teacher and as a writer, such as the compulsory nature of reading, something which brings about hatred and a general lack of interest in young people for reading
