Summary

In recent years, the number of studies that have focused their attention on the image offered by women scientists in the media has increased. In order to fully analyze the image that digital media offers about women scientists, it is necessary to deepen three areas that have undergone significant changes in recent years: the space that the media offers to women; the characteristics and ups and downs experienced by scientific journalism; and the online media development process. This article analyzes some of the relationships that occur these three areas in terms of information sources, following a review of the existing literature on the subject.
