Summary

Specialization in activities of generation of knowledge and high technological intensity is not only vitally important to anticipate to changes in our environment´s competitive paradigms, it is also an indispensable tool for the sustainability of the model of country that is being projected for the Basque Country and in which it is necessary to advance steadily towards a creative society that is economically innovative and ecologically responsible (the Basque sustainability triangle). Education, innovation and research form, in this context, vertices of a new triangle, of knowledge, that feeds and mobilises the bases of the multidimensional growth and development model for the Basque Country.
