Summary

The UNESCO Professorship on Sustainable Development and Environmental Education is intended to be a new unit for teaching, specialised studies and research applied to the Urdaibai Biosphere Reservation, that is to become a place of reference in the Basque Country and that allowsfor strengthening trans-frontier cooperation between university-level educational institutions, technical centres and leading companies in the promotion of sustainable economic and social development studies. All of this is to take place from a multi-disciplinary point of view that is to encompass both natural and social and technical sciences.
