El objetivo del nuevo programa es analizar la situación e identificar medidas para promover el euskera en el territorio.
Launched at the end of 2025, the project will run throughout 2026, with Eusko Ikaskuntza collaborating with Plazara. Euskara erdigunera on its implementation. This group, made up of people with extensive experience in promoting the use and presence of the Basque language (particularly in the public spaces and everyday settings of Northern Basque Country), is responsible for implementing and developing the various initiatives.
Based on the guidelines of the research project Promotion of the Basque language in Navarre through discursive elements with social resonance carried out by partners Xabier Erize and Carlos Vilches between 2023 and 2024, this project will not only enable us to understand the sociolinguistic reality of Northern Basque Country but also allow us to analyse this reality and that of Navarre using the same parameters.
In parallel with the implementation of the various actions, and within the framework of the project, a Cross-Border Summer Course has been scheduled (Baiona, 2 July 2026). The course will allow us to cross-check and supplement the information gathered during the research; and at the same time, present the results from Navarre to the public. We will also use the course to bring together all perspectives from the Basque Country, offering different perspectives on the promotion of the Basque language.
