Eusko Ikaskuntza launches its Second Plan for Member Participation and, to begin with, sets up Groups for the Promotion of Member Initiatives (BET) in Álava and Navarre.
The BET Groups have been set up with the main aim of promoting active, voluntary and organised participation in the life of the organisation, creating spaces for proposals, collaboration and connection with society.
On the one hand, the aim is to enrich the content, impact and diversity of Eusko Ikaskuntza's activities and, on the other, to reinforce a model of participation that gives prominence to members, generating ideas, relationships and knowledge.
To this end, as announced at the General Meeting of members, registration has been encouraged in Álava and Navarre, and two groups have now been set up. The next step will be to set the first date for the meeting and sharing of interests, as well as to lay the foundations for work based on the BET Groups Operating Protocol.
The groups, with a flexible, self-managed and voluntary structure, will channel the interest and commitment of members around working themes that may focus either on a specific discipline (culture, society, science, etc.), on the strategic lines of Eusko Ikaskuntza, or on the realities of a territory. These themes must be aligned with the nature and mission of the Society.
