Summary

In Humboldt´s opinion, the University has to connect subjective training with objective science, the production of knowledge with the training of the person. Humboldt´ s University project has been too often misunderstood and it can nowadays only be understood in the historical and theoretical context where it emerges, in many senses far apart from the current reality of the German University
