Summary

Starting from the hypothesis that certain mentality is of religious festive rites adapt better than others to the actual social interests and demands, I intend to carry out an in-depth study of one concrete morality, the pilgrimages. In order to understand better the current upsurge of pilgrimages, I propose a definition from which I introduce their characteristics while providing, the same time, ethnographic examples of certain Andalusian pilgrimages.
