Summary

The present article deals with the gestation and circumstances of the cultural entity called the "Wandering Academy" that was set up in Gipuzkoa between the nineteen-fifties and sixties, and an in depth analysis is made of the direct participation of Doctor Ignacio María Barriola Irigoyen in the institution. Finally an evaluation is made of the significance that cultural institution could have had nowadays.
