Summary
The main objective of the Treaties of Good Correspondence of the 16th and 17th centuries, which represent the end of a normative evolution of peace agreements during the Middle Ages, was the preservation of the economic interest of the Basque maritime provinces, threatened by the French-Spanish conflicts. They are the result of a real inter-regional collaboration that established an original maritime peace, which was a reflection of their identity and independence.Sing up and download the publications of Eusko Ikaskuntza
