The analysis of prostitution in the town like Bilbao, bearing in mind the industrialization as a referential chronological framework, is directly connected to the modernisation of the town. Prostitution understood rst as an economic activity, without precluding its moral and sanitary aspects. This analysis includes a study of the group that conforms the collective of prostitutes.
