Summary

This is a study of the production of love stories published during the civil war with a Basque setting. An analysis is made of Madrina de guerra [Godmother of War] (s.a.), by Rosa de Arámburu; La enfermera de Ondárroa [Ther nurse from Ondárroa] (1938), by Jorge Villarín; and ¡Milagrosa! [Miraculous!] (s.a.), by Fernando de Ayala. The objective was to show the conjunction in such works of the love or sentimental ingredient with an ideological element of Fraco´s Spain, and exposing the procedures used by these authors to swallow the Basque identity within a Spanish outlook.
