Summary

During the Middle Ages the Mediterranean is a thoroughfare of communication and confrontation between the Iberian Peninsula and the East with constant movement of people and ideas. As from the conquest of Constantinople, Muslim domination is going to intensify the conflicts. Charles Vand Phillip II will attempt to recapture the commercial routes. In the 16th century, berber pirates multiply their assaults. In 1610 the Moors are expelled toward Africa from the north. The Atlantic Ocean is then converted into a centre of action.
