Summary

Science Technology and Society presents an alternative to classical studies about technology and its assesemnt. Under that point of view, Society does an important rol in the technological which are neglected by other studies. In the present paper, diferent approaches in STS are considered in order to offer a general overview of them. ECC new normative (IVth program) takes in account the spirit of those approaches, claiming for new values in technological assesment.
