Summary

The author intends to open space for reflection on the situation of deaf people and on strategies that favour accessibility in environments, services and practices that generate discrimination. The author emphasises the need to know the implications of being deaf, from a socio-cultural point of view, and of the environmental factors that create situations of dependency in other people.
