Summary

As from the analysis of the general evolution of Spanish historiography in the last years of the 20th century and the process of searching for new models of historical analysis, the idea has been to carry out an evaluation of historiography as refers to the medieval history of the Basque Country over the last twenty years. On the other hand, certain manipulation risks or abusive interpretations of the past have been tabled which may affect historians´ day-to-day work.
