Summary
We study, during the first third of the 20th century in Bizkaia, the contents of working-class masculinity and feminity and the way in which such identities resist the stigmatising discourses of the dominant classes. We also analyse two feminine figures, the strong woman and the conscious mother, as sources of class dignification.
