Summary

In this article a fiscal source from the late 19th century has been used to analyse unpaid work contributed by women to their families in this phase of considerable economic growth for Bilbao. Also, these title-bearers of small and big sales and manufacturing businesses have been searched for in the municipal census of inhabitants of Bilbao in order to quantify not only the absence of accounts on their work but also on their productive activities.
