Summary

The aim of this paper is to analyze how the use of public spaces is conditioned by both the formal concept of citizenship and the daily habits of citizens. The reflection is framed in an experience of social intervention carried out in Santiago de Chile, in a socially vulnerable commune, during the first democratic decade after the military dictatorship.
