Summary

Before the XVIIIth century, Venezuela had no many inhabitants and its contribution to the crown was insignificant or negative. The "Compañía Guipuzcoana de Caracas", founded in 1728, modernized the colony through commercial and military activiy. The colony was equipped with ports and road, and its productivity was increased
