Summary

This volume contains the papers presented in the Fourth Sessions on Health and Society - Osasuna eta Gizartea held in Donostia in 2002 under the title "De senectute- On old age". In these sessions, historical, demographic, medical, economic, ethical and legal aspects of the treatment of old-age or terminal patients were covered with the help of specialists in each of the topics. In the section on originals and revisions, four works on diverse medical themes were introduced, three of which were the result of financial aid for research provided by the section in 2003 and an article presented by section members. The volume ends with the final work of the 2001 Agustín Zumalabe scholarship in which dental pathologies in the deposits of San Juan Ante Portam Latinam and Longar are studied, which constitute an approach to the type of food the Basques ate at the end of the Neolithic period.
