Summary

The mines are located in Arditurri, an hour and a half´s walk away from Oiartzun. They are on a paleozoic formation, and the minerals to be found are, among others, iron with blendum and galenum, which were exploited in old times. The forms of the wells and the holes in ancient quarries are described. The Romans seem to have exploited the argentiforous lead that can be found in the area.
