Summary

The intention of the present communication is to contribute to the analysis of the discussion on identity developed in Navarre during the period from the late eighteen hundreds to the early nineteen hundreds through a study of traditionalist painting. Through the work of Navarran painters like García Asarta, Ciga Echandi and Pérez Torres two issues are approached: the struggle between Navarrism and nationalism and the graphic representation of the two Navarres.
