Summary

This re-edition of the Registro de Comptos (Register of Accounts) from 1280 updates the 1972 Introductory Study. Apart from being the oldest complete Navarran record of royal accounts after that from 1266, it is of extraordinary interest because it clearly reflects the close control that the French authorities exercised over the kingdom shortly after the union with the Capetan monarchy. Indeed, 40% of the castles were in their hands.
